The edible seaweed is farmed in the open waters off the coast of Japan in a spot known in the culinary world for its rich array of red algae. The nori is harvested and shipped to Los Angeles, where it's milled, pressed and roasted, resulting in crisp, paper-thin, savory-sweet sheets for snacking or enhancing a wide variety of dishes.
