The Emma Planter is a beautifully crafted, shallow dish ideal for showcasing succulents and other shallow-rooted plants. With its open design, it offers ample space for creative arrangements while allowing plants to spread comfortably. Named after Emma Lucy Braun (April 19, 1889 – March 5, 1971), a prominent botanist, ecologist, and expert on the forests of the eastern United States who was a professor of the University of Cincinnati. She was the first woman to be elected President of the Ecological Society of America in 1950 and was an environmentalist before the term was popularized — a pioneering woman in her field, winning many awards for her work! Medium planter measures 6.5” x 3” Depth: 2.25” Each piece is handmade of food-grade porcelain and includes a drainage hole and matching water saucer. Due to the nature of raw materials/unglazed surfaces, these surfaces are more prone to scuffing and fingerprints due to the handmade process.
